Commissioners approve wide range of contracts, easements, proclamations and grants; key votes at a glance

Hidalgo County Commissioners Court and Hidalgo County Drainage District No. 1 voted on a large package of resolutions, contracts, procurement items, proclamations and grants during the May 13, 2025 joint meetings. Hidalgo County (cause C-1156-24-C) following closed-session discussion. 10) Commissioners authorized purchasing negotiations and ranking actions for the Hidalgo County Juvenile Mental Health Facility project and authorized staff to begin negotiating with the top-ranked vendor.

Votes were recorded as “motion, second, all in favor say aye” for the items above; when an abstention was necessary the court noted it on the record (for example, several commissioners were recorded as abstaining from specific items where conflicts or absences applied). The court moved into and returned from closed session to discuss matters permitted by the Texas Government Code and then took the open-session actions described above.
