The Board of County Commissioners continued the public hearing on the Vegas Solar Energy Facility (PRC24‑6) to the July 1, 2025 agenda after staff said the applicant is negotiating with subsurface owners and could not attend the May 13 meeting.
A county planner (identified in the record as Bridal Maron, Community and Economic Development) briefed the board and recommended continuation. The planner said the applicant, based in Sarasota, Florida, had requested a second continuance and staff recommended July 1, 2025 to allow the applicant time to resolve subsurface ownership issues. No members of the public appeared to speak on the item.
A motion to continue PRC24‑6 passed 5–0.
