City engineering staff reported that the city-hall campus backup generator project is nearing the end of plan review and that the project should be ready to go out to bid once county and plan-check approvals are complete.
Staff said the project is currently in review with three separate Los Angeles County entities and with the city's plan reviewer (Willdan). The engineer on file anticipates two to three more weeks for plan-check completion. County fire and county building reviewers will also need to clear the plans; staff reported the county will waive fees because the project is a city capital improvement.
Once documents are stamped the engineer will obtain an over-the-counter approval from the county reviewer and staff expects to advertise the project for bids. Council received and filed the verbal update.
