Cognia review finds Spearfish School District above network average, recommends targeted improvements

Shannon Vogler, a Cognia accreditation representative, told the Spearfish School District 40-2 Board on May 12 that the district’s systemwide accreditation review rated the district above Cognia’s network average and identified shared leadership focused on learner well-being as a noteworthy practice.
The review team interviewed 95 stakeholders, conducted classroom observations and reviewed district self-assessment materials, Vogler said. “We really see ourselves as a partner,” she said, describing Cognia’s role in helping districts use evidence and continuous-improvement processes to advance teaching and learning.
