Board reorganization: Weigert continues as president; Pickler elected treasurer by secret ballot

The West Bend Joint School District No. 1 board completed its reorganization for the coming year by electing officers and confirming committee and delegate appointments.
Chris Weigert was nominated and re-elected as board president by voice vote. Kelly Lang was nominated and re-elected vice president. The treasurer election required a secret ballot: the board reported a 4–3 tally electing Joe Pickler as treasurer; the district did not attribute individual member votes publicly. Melanie Aragoff was re-elected clerk by voice vote.
The board also confirmed committee and delegate assignments that were presented at the meeting. Those assignments included CESA 6 board of control representation (Chris Jenkins), WASB convention delegate (June, with a backup), Head Start representation (Melanie Aragoff) and a county task force representative. Policy committee membership was affirmed (Chris Jenkins, Joe Pickler, Chad Temaz and Chris Weigert) as was the curriculum committee (Melanie, June and Kelly). Board members approved the slate by voice vote.
Board members then reviewed and approved the school board meeting calendar for 2025–26, with one scheduling change: the second December meeting will be scheduled for Dec. 15 and will be canceled if not needed. The board voted to approve the calendar with that understanding.
The reorganization votes were recorded at the meeting; the treasurer election was conducted by secret ballot per board procedure. The board then adjourned to executive session by a unanimous roll-call vote (members present voted yes) to discuss a personnel evaluation as provided by Wisconsin statute.
