Council reviews Walker Drive bridge bid and FY25–26 road project list; council approves projects for procurement

Public works staff reviewed a suite of planned street projects for fiscal year 2025–26 and discussed a specific contract recommendation for Walker Drive extension Bridge C.

Staff said Bridge C is the longest of the Walker Drive extension spans and that Crans & Co. (listed as the low bidder in staff materials) was recommended to receive the bid award; the total project cost for the bridge was estimated in the discussion to be in the $550,000–$600,000 range. Staff indicated notice-to-proceed could be issued quickly to keep the contractor on an aggressive schedule and finish before the end of the fiscal year.
