Resident urges board to expand Collierville Library, highlighting space and program needs

At the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting Monday, resident and local educator Inara Panjwani urged the board to support an expansion of the Collierville Library to address overcrowding and increase programming and study space.
"As a mom, entrepreneur, and educator, I use our town's library almost every single day," Panjwani said. "My toddler enjoys story time, and I love being there as a work-from-home educator. It's a very productive and peaceful space for me." She said her tutoring business, Inquisitive Mind Tutoring, uses the library for 1-on-1 sessions and for TCAP and ACT prep workshops that have drawn sold-out attendance.
Panjwani told the board the children's section is small and often crowded; furniture and foam blocks are worn; study rooms are always booked; and seating options are uncomfortable for seniors. "This expansion isn't just about more square footage. It's about investing in a space that serves all Collierville residents, children, parents, students, educators, seniors, and small business owners," she said.
Mayor Frasier thanked Panjwani for her comments. The remarks were part of the citizen-comment portion of the meeting and do not represent a formal board action.
