Planning staff briefed the Planning and Zoning Commission on May 12 about a specific use permit application (SUP24110047) for Easy Food Mart at 688 West Pioneer Parkway.
Staff said the proposed tenant would occupy about 2,000 square feet in an existing shopping center near Pioneer Parkway and Carrier Parkway, operating with proposed hours of roughly 7 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and extended weekend hours. The applicant’s operational plan indicates the store will sell food, snacks, beverages, coffee and intends to apply for an alcohol permit; staff reported the applicant expects to employ up to six people at peak times.
The Development Review Committee recommended approval with a condition that no outdoor displays or exterior vending (including ice machines and other seasonal merchandise) be allowed; staff said the restriction was added because the applicant’s operational plan mentioned outside displays. Staff noted the applicant was not present at the briefing because of scheduling but intends to appear for council questions. No action was taken during the briefing.
