Selovich told the subcommittee he has worked as an investigator for the public defender's office and as a private investigator, and said the constable position would continue his work serving documents and complaints for attorneys. "I've been in the legal profession for quite a while," Selovich said when asked why he wanted the position.
Councilor Ira Novosalski voiced support at the hearing, saying Selovich "is doing a great job with the innocence program" and works well with the Commonwealth court system. The chair announced the appointment by voice vote: "All in favor? All opposed? So ordered."
Two other appointments listed on the agenda (reappointment of Brian Harkins to the Public Art Commission and appointment of Dr. Drew Bunker to the Board of Health) were not present and the subcommittee moved on; the transcript records no action on those items at this meeting.
