The board recorded votes of approval from Trustee Lanier, Trustee Khan, Clerk Gonzales, Vice President Smith and President (recorded in the roll call as President Heinebait). The motion carried and the board left for closed session.
During the period for public comment before closed session a speaker referenced "government code, section" as the basis for matters to be discussed in closed session and urged fairness and transparency where board members have close personal relationships with district counsel or staff. The board then adjourned to closed session.
When the trustees reconvened in open session later in the meeting, the board secretary stated that no action had been taken in closed session. The board proceeded to public comments and the remainder of the regular agenda.
