The Weston County Board of County Commissioners approved Amendment 1 to a grant agreement with the Wyoming Department of Health Public Health Division, a contract described at the meeting as about $91,000.
The amendment was presented by county staff; Public Health topics were discussed with staff member Angie clarifying that a cited 10% related to travel and training costs rather than a direct county cash match. Commissioners asked staff to request a clearer breakdown of the “10%” listed in paragraph 4 so the board can see exactly what costs the public-health partner intends to record as its share.
After discussion, the board moved, seconded and voted to approve the chairman’s signature on the grant amendment. During the roll call, one commissioner said, “I’m a no,” and the motion passed. Commissioners said they wanted a written itemization of the 10% line to ensure the county would not be asked to pay those costs later.
Speakers urged improved communication from the public-health contractor about training and regulatory requirements. County staff confirmed past practice showed the county had not been required to pay those 10% amounts in previous agreements.
The board approved the amendment and instructed staff to request a list showing what the public-health division counts as its 10% contribution; the board did not change the contract language at the meeting.
