Tipton County officials say Mark Walker school construction remains on schedule

Specific updates included: framing and sheetrock were reported as roughly 95% complete in sections labeled J, H and G; roofers were finishing the safe room; the cafeteria and stage slabs were poured; all windows were installed, including ballistic-rated glazing at the front façade to meet code; and sod for the front elevation was ordered pending a dry spell to allow installation.
The presenter noted the design feature that cafeterias will serve as safe-room spaces because of reinforced walls and rebar, and said Lincoln (the construction contractor referenced in the meeting) had been responsive during walkthroughs. Trustees were invited to schedule additional walkthroughs and to contact the project team for coordination.
Financial paperwork and reports for several school funds (general purpose, federal projects, central cafeteria and capital projects) were included in the meeting packet and were to be spread on the minutes; the packet item required no board action.
