Commission staff and members discussed plans for a monthly Second Saturday artist meet-and-greet series to connect commissioners and the public with gallery hosts across the city.
Staff reported outreach to local galleries and said Continuum Art Studios intends to host the June event; potential July and August hosts include In Collective and Blue Tile, with additional venues under discussion. The commission proposed running meet-and-greets concurrent with gallery open-house hours and discussed a preferred 5–7 p.m. window (with one-hour sign-up slots within that window) so commissioners can stagger coverage.
Staff also discussed logistics including bringing informational flyers, name tags or sticker-style badges, and using the Celebrate Englewood button maker as a visible connection to commission outreach. Commissioners discussed the length of shifts (one- or two-hour options), signage and prompts to facilitate conversation with visitors; staff said they will circulate a sign-up spreadsheet that lists dates, venues and time slots through September.
Commissioners said meet-and-greets are intended to raise awareness of commission activities, gather artist interest in public-art opportunities and support local galleries by increasing foot traffic.
