U.N. briefed Security Council on DPRK missile launches and undeclared enrichment sites, spokesperson says

Khiari reported that throughout the past year the DPRK continued to conduct ballistic missile launches and publicly display undeclared uranium enrichment facilities at Yongbyon and Gangso (as reported), and that this persistent pursuit of nuclear and missile programs violates relevant Security Council resolutions and undermines the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, the spokesperson said.
Khiari emphasized the urgent need to reduce nuclear risk, prevent any use of a nuclear weapon and pursue eventual total elimination, the spokesperson added; the assistant secretary-general’s remarks are available online.
