Jose Lopez, president of the Harris County Deputies Organization (FOP local), told the court: “We need paid parity with HPD and we need it now.” In separate remarks Chief Tommy Diaz of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office praised deputies and asked the court to find a path to “competitive compensation.”
