Oakdale City Council approved three appointments on the consent agenda by unanimous 5-0 votes.
Brian Heron was appointed to the Planning Commission after council members asked him about his approach to responsible growth and experience with commercial development. Heron described the commission’s advisory role and said he favors "moderate growth, appropriately done," adding that he has experience with commercial development and local ties through residence and business activities.
Will Pringle was appointed to an unspecified commission in item 8.2; Pringle was not present but council members said he has 23 years of service experience and works with a senior-care center near Oakdale Hospital. Christy Inancio was appointed to the Senior Advisory Commission; council members said she is an active volunteer who moved to Oakdale about two years ago and has been involved with senior programs.
Each appointment was moved and seconded and carried 5-0 on roll-call votes with Mayor Pro Tem Smith, Council members Gilbert, Potassie, Kettering and Mayor Sherilyn Berrios voting yes. Council members thanked the appointees for their willingness to volunteer on behalf of the community.
