Assembly affirms statutory right to wear masks in public spaces

The bill drew brief floor debate and then passed on a roll call, Ayes 52, Noes 2. Supporters pointed to personal experiences and public health considerations; opponents were limited in number on the floor record.
The bill now proceeds through the legislative process; sponsors said it would not prevent legitimate identification or safety checks and would preserve narrow exceptions where necessary.
