Board approves Intermediate District 287 long-term facilities plan and several consent items; moves into closed session

The Robbinsdale Area Schools School Board on Monday approved a resolution adopting Intermediate District 287’s long-term facilities maintenance (LTFM) plan and approved the evening’s consent agenda. The board then voted to move into a closed session under Minnesota law to conduct preliminary consideration of allegations against an individual.

The board voted, by roll call, to approve the LTFM resolution for Intermediate District 287; recorded votes were yes from Director Baskett, Director Bowman, Chair Evans Becker, Director Hillenbrand, Director Holmes, Director Long and Director Wouto (7–0). The motion to approve the resolution was moved and seconded by board members during the meeting.

A consent agenda motion that included the property and casualty insurance renewal, draft minutes, licensed and nonlicensed personnel reports and the financial reports passed on a roll call vote, 7–0.

The board also took a procedural vote to go into a closed session under Minnesota Statute 13D.05, subdivision 2(b) for preliminary consideration of allegations against an individual subject to the board’s authority. The chair moved the closed-session motion and it was seconded; the motion passed on an all‑in‑favor voice vote.

Procedural notes: Earlier in the meeting the board approved the published agenda by voice vote after a motion and second; the board adjourned following the closed session. No legislative ordinances, bills or new contracts were approved in the action items presented on the consent agenda.

Ending: The board’s roll calls and voice votes on these items close the business portion of the meeting; the board resumed in a short work session later the same night.
