GREEN RIVER, Utah — The Green River City Council approved a scope-of-work agreement with Lochner, the airport consultant, to carry out a pavement preservation project at the Green River Airport.
Carson Milton of Lochner described the work as pavement preservation — crack sealing, fog sealing and remarking of aprons, taxiways and connectors — intended to extend pavement life until a larger rehabilitation or reconstruction project can be funded. Milton said these projects commonly recur every three to four years at similar airports.
Funding shares the consultant provided in the meeting were 95% Federal Aviation Administration, 2.5% State of Utah and 2.5% local. The council noted that keeping the airport operational and able to handle a range of aircraft is important to support inland-port freight needs during construction periods.
