The Warren County School Board voted May 7 to renew its food-service management contract with Sodexo for the 2025–26 school year.
Administration said the existing agreement, entered July 1, 2024, permits up to four one-year renewals by mutual consent and allows a fee adjustment tied to the consumer price index. The current consumer price index cited in the presentation was 3.4 percent.
Superintendent's staff reported the estimated effect of the requested increase would be approximately $5,957.29 in additional management fees and $6,297.78 in additional administrative fees under the contract; those amounts come from the contractor's allowed CPI-based adjustment and, according to staff, do not change the division's total budget for reimbursable meals. The division remains guaranteed a set per-meal amount under the contract.
A motion to approve the renewal passed by voice vote. Administration emphasized continuity with Sodexo, saying the company was meeting current service expectations.
Details: the fee change was described as a per-meal management/administrative increase of 0.004 cents per meal in the contract period 2025–26; staff said the estimated total increases were within terms of the RFP and contract.
