Thurston County staff announced at the April 15 agenda‑setting work session that negotiations with the Corrections Deputies union have concluded and union members have ratified a proposed collective bargaining agreement. HR staff said bargaining began in summer/early fall and that the ratified contract will be brought to the Board of County Commissioners that afternoon for the board’s ratification.
The county identified the contract as a collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME Local (as described in packet materials) for correction deputies. HR staff present confirmed the unit ratified the agreement and that staff will present the formal ratification item for the board to act on at the business meeting.
