Supporters said the additional meeting would give commissioners time to review proposals brought by department heads and administrators and reduce the number of items that must be postponed for a month when they “spring” on the board.
The board reviewed and accepted standing committee appointments for the coming year, with several commissioners named as members or alternates for bodies including finance, airport advisory, solid waste, transit and local economic development authorities. The board adopted the amended rules of procedure with the changes discussed.
