Committee amends committees policy to remove WASB convention delegate and clarifies consent-agenda timing

Anthony Zenobia moved to strike the WASB convention-delegate language from section b of the policy; Mister Brooks seconded the motion. The amendment passed 5-0. After the amendment, Zenobia moved to approve policy 0155 as amended; Brooks seconded and the committee approved the policy 5-0.
Dr. Seibert said the change aligns the district’s committee language with an existing consent-agenda policy (policy 0166.1) and clarifies that policy revisions approved at committee at least 24 hours prior to a board meeting should be placed on the consent agenda of the next regular board meeting. The proposed language also distinguishes Neola-recommended policy text from School District of Waukesha (SDW) edits so district-specific modifications are preserved in future updates.
Committee members discussed whether the WASB delegate language should read "shall" or "may" and concluded the delegate provision was outdated because the district is not currently a WASB member. Zenobia said the provision could be added back later if the committee decided to participate in WASB activities again.
The committee recorded two formal actions on the item: the amendment to remove the WASB delegate and the approval of policy 0155 as amended. Both passed, 5-0.
The revised policy also clarifies that new policies approved at committee will be placed on the regular board agenda for an action vote rather than the consent agenda, unless they meet the 24-hour prior approval threshold.
The committee did not refer the policy to the full board during this meeting; the policy was approved by the committee.
