Sawyer County Historical Society prepares summer exhibits and new display space

The museum recently received a collection of more than 800 arrowheads, spearheads and ax heads, the speaker said, and volunteers are preparing a basement room for a new display described as a "gangster" exhibit tied to local history. The museum also hosted a speaker who discussed the caretaker of the Hideout and related historical materials.
School groups are scheduled to visit the museum and summer hours will expand to Thursday–Saturday, noon to 4 p.m., beginning after Memorial Day. The society noted ongoing cataloging and conservation work and invited committee members to attend future meetings and support the museum’s efforts.
