Mindy Simons of Hayward Lakes told the committee the visitor bureau completed a digital advertising campaign that ran January through April featuring sponsored social posts and email newsletters.
Simons said engagement on the bureau’s website increased 45% over the prior 30 days and that a March email report showed unusually strong time-on-page metrics. She described multiple paid campaigns that ran in late spring, including Google pay‑per‑click ads focused on spring fishing and ATV/UTV trails and camping, and credited early trail openings for interest in ATV content.
"Our video view rate is over 75%...and of those 75%...98% [are] viewing it fully," Simons said of the bureau’s YouTube ads. She also described partnerships with Chicago Parent and similar parenting publications in Milwaukee, Madison and Minnesota to market family travel.
Simons said camping‑specific Facebook ads ran in April and May and that the bureau will launch sponsored content partnerships in May.
