Rosalie O'Brien reported to the Board of Zoning Appeals on several county development projects and administrative matters during the meeting.
O'Brien said contractors discovered a sinkhole on the TCAT building site during blasting; the sinkhole has been remediated and work to prepare the building pad has continued. She also reported that the ARC building in Powercom has advanced to construction; the structure is a specialized test building for explosive pellets used in airbag testing and therefore involves specialized construction.
O'Brien added that the county health department is undergoing a remodel and that work continues on a new field house near the football field. She said the county and city ordinances have been undergoing a combined rewrite and that the consolidated ordinance package is nearly ready to be presented in pieces to the county commission.
O'Brien also noted an open position in the building office: the office manager role remains vacant and applicants are being sought.
O'Brien’s remarks were informational updates to the board; no formal board action on the projects was recorded in the meeting transcript.
