Emery's fire chief reported that the county will reimburse $5,600 for truck equipment and requested council permission to spend the same amount to purchase equipment pending vendor quotes.
"I've got a $5,600 reimbursement from the county," the fire chief said, adding he expected a vendor quote from a local supplier and asked for permission to advance the purchase, to be reimbursed by the county later.
The chief also said a fireworks vendor had called to ask whether the town would place an order; he asked council members to confirm the decision after staff review of donations and checks. Council members discussed following up but did not record a formal vote or appropriation at the meeting.
The chief said the reimbursement would cover truck equipment and that staff would provide quotes and documentation for the county reimbursement process. Council direction was limited to follow-up outside the public meeting.
