The Shamokin Area School District Board of Directors approved a slate of routine motions and administrative items at the meeting, including the election of a board treasurer and approval of personnel items.
Board members voted unanimously or with broad majorities to approve meeting minutes, the treasurer’s report, payment of bills, various contracts and purchases, curriculum approvals, transportation waivers, establishment of a new student club fund, and insurance renewal. The board elected Stephen Cook to serve as board treasurer for the 2025–26 term; Missus Rhodes voted “no” on the treasurer election and Cook abstained from his own election. The personnel package (items 8.01–8.13) passed with at least one “no” vote recorded and at least one board member noting exceptions to specific personnel items.
Several items passed with roll-call confirmation during the meeting; the transcript records roll-call “yes” votes for the majority of motions and identified dissent on specific items (see Votes at a glance).
