The Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency board approved a compensation adjustment for Executive Director Michael Bassett following a closed‑session performance evaluation May 14.
Agency counsel Scott Shapiro reported out of closed session that the board discussed Bassett’s performance and provided feedback for Shapiro to deliver to the executive director: “The positive the comments are positive, and I’ll be sharing those with Mister Bassett,” Shapiro said in open session.
After the closed session, a board member moved to approve a merit increase together with a cost‑of‑living adjustment; the board clarified on the record that the total increase equates to 4%. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously on roll call.
Shapiro said there was no other reportable action from the closed session beyond his commitment to convey the board’s feedback to the executive director.
