Staff said the MOU seeks to formalize entrepreneurship training and dual‑enrollment pathways and recommended board approval.
Wiley University: Dr. Taylor also presented a proposed MOU with Wiley University that would include conditional admittance for eligible high school students and their support persons (parents/guardians) into Wiley undergraduate programs, contingent on meeting academic and participation requirements. Staff said the agreement is intended to expand household‑level access to higher education and could be a foundation for additional dual‑credit or early‑college collaboration.
Curriculum proposals: Instruction staff requested board permission to participate in the Bluebonnet Spanish math pilot (extension of the Bluebonnet math curriculum into Spanish language materials) and to adopt a Pre‑K3 Scholastic curriculum; both were presented as future action items and will return to the board for formal adoption.
Why it matters: The MOUs could expand college and career readiness (CCMR) opportunities and broaden access to post‑secondary pathways for Lancaster students and families. The curriculum pilot and Pre‑K3 adoption would affect bilingual and early‑childhood programming; the board will consider formal approvals at a future meeting.
