A Bay County special magistrate ordered the owner or responsible party for 3605 East Orlando Road to either obtain a demolition permit and remove the mobile home or submit full manufacturer specifications or engineer plans to repair the unit within 30 days. The matter was continued to a compliance hearing on June 18, 2025.
Investigator Robert Clarkson and Building Inspector Scott Thorpe described boarded or missing windows, tarps and rolled roofing, large roof deflection, missing underlayment and evidence of improper electrical splices and charring. Clarkson testified that he posted notices and attempted to contact the apparent land renter and the person identified as the owner of the mobile home; an owner named in the file denied being the owner and said she only rented the land.
Thorpe said he observed overheating and charring in electrical connections, undersized wiring and illegal connections, and that the structure was unfit and unsafe. Code enforcement recorded no building permits applied for and posted the property; the magistrate repeated standard order language requiring either demolition or a detailed repair plan and plan-review through Builder Services. If the respondent fails to comply in 30 days, the magistrate ordered a $1,000 fine that may become a lien and a compliance hearing was scheduled for June 18 at 1:00 p.m.
