Santa Rosa PFA approves bylaw change to drop regular monthly meeting schedule

The Public Financing Authority on Thursday approved an amendment to its bylaws that removes the requirement for a regular monthly meeting and permits the body to meet on an as-needed basis. The change was presented as a procedural amendment intended to reduce repeated cancellations now that the PFA is moving through a concentrated public-hearing phase on the EIFD.

Staff told the PFA that when the bylaws were adopted in February 2003 the body set a regular meeting frequency (the third Thursday of each month) but that the current workload and timing of discrete milestone tasks make a standing monthly meeting unnecessary. The amendment was described by staff as intended to "ease the calendars a bit and to avoid basically having that monthly occurrence."
