Measure BP receipts top $15 million; committee hears expenditures including vehicles, radios and grants

City accounting staff on Tuesday told the Stakeholders Oversight Committee that Measure BP has generated about $15 million to date and that the projected fund balance as of April 2025 is approximately $11 million.
Albert Trin, the accounting manager filling in for the finance director, said revenue increased by roughly $549,000 since the last report — about $519,000 from sales tax and about $30,000 from interest on invested funds. Trin reported recent expenditures, including payments tied to the purchase and outfitting of 11 police vehicles, lease payments for two‑way radios, event programming and maintenance at Zocalo Park, and grants distributed to local organizations.
Trin said the city spent an additional $326,000 for the 11 police vehicles, paid about $311,000 on a lease for two‑way radios, and made a small increase for Zocalo Park programming. He also reported that four community empowerment grants have been issued so far. Staff said the senior bingo system has been purchased and placed into service and that remaining invoices will be reconciled during the closeout process; any under‑spend on a completed project will return to the fund balance.
Committee members asked about remaining invoices for the APX radio system and staff said a few invoices remained to be paid and that they would report back at the next meeting. Staff also confirmed that radios and most vehicles are now in service, with a small number still awaiting final build‑out and outfitting.
Later in the meeting the committee approved the April 8 meeting minutes in a roll call vote.
