WOBURN — The School Committee voted on May 20 to advertise for applicants to fill its vacancy on the city’s Recreation Commission and set an application deadline of June 10.
The committee approved a motion to post an announcement on the Woburn Public Schools website and on social media and to distribute the notice through school communications (s'More) and local outlets such as the Woburn Patch. Committee members also recommended sending the ad to the school community and local news outlets.
A second motion, adopted by the committee, established that applications will be due by June 10. Committee members said they plan to interview candidates and select an appointee at a future meeting; members discussed scheduling interviews after application receipt and noted the committee’s first June meeting as a target for reviewing candidate numbers.
Both motions passed by voice vote; committee members indicated the ad would also be distributed through district email and parent channels. No candidate was named at the meeting.
