Bannock County commissioners authorized a $51,775 contract with ProBuilders to install a diesel generator at the county detention center.
Public works staff presented the bid and said the contract had been reviewed by legal counsel from both parties. A county staffer confirmed the equipment has been ordered. The generator will replace the main indoor unit located in a room off the boiler area at the rear of the jail.
"This would be for the installation of the diesel generator out at the detention center," one staff member said. Commissioners asked where the generator would be placed; staff specified the unit will be inside, near the boiler room at the rear of the jail.
A commissioner made the motion to sign the contract; the board voted in favor. Staff said they would coordinate installation scheduling as the equipment delivery date becomes clear.
