Commission nominates Styers Building for Preservation Idaho Orchids & Onions

The Sandpoint Arts, Culture and Historic Preservation Commission voted to nominate the Steyer and Snedden property at 318–320 North Second Avenue (referred to as the Styers Building) for Preservation Idaho’s Orchids & Onions 2025 recognition.
Commission members Barry Burgess and Ellie Sesnes said they had been in contact with architect Reed Water and the property owners and that a nomination packet similar to last year’s Bellwood Building submission would be prepared. Commissioner Barry Burgess confirmed stakeholders Carrie Logan and Steve Garvin were on board to assist with the nomination.
A motion to move forward with the nomination was made and seconded; the commission voted in favor with no opposed votes. The commission set a June 16, 2025, deadline to submit the nomination packet for consideration by Preservation Idaho.
The commission asked staff to compile the materials into a complete packet and to follow the same nomination process used the prior year.
