Denton County Commissioners Court approves routine contracts, grants, plats and equipment purchases

The Denton County Commissioners Court on May 13 unanimously approved a series of consent and procurement items, including equipment purchases, vendor rankings, grants and plats.
Major approvals included a $56,000 purchase of Cisco partner services to create a phone queue system through Presidio Holding Incorporated under the Texas Department of Information Resources cooperative contract; an amendment to the Department of State Health Services contract (HHS001437400017) for tuberculosis prevention and control totaling $280,959 for fiscal year 2026 (September 2025–August 2026); and an addendum to a master agreement with DFW Consulting Group Inc. for IT room HVAC equipment replacement in the amount of $96,140 plus reimbursable expenses not to exceed $3,800, funded from the Permanent Improvement Fund for repairs and maintenance.
The court also approved evaluation committee rankings naming Innovative Transportation Solutions, Inc. (ITS) as the most qualified firm for RFQ No. 252855 for transportation strategic planning, funding and project management services, and ranking T.N.O. and Perkins Inc. as most qualified for RFQ No. 252863 for historical park fence design and engineering. Final plats approved included Meadow Park HOA (two HOA lots, 1.564 acres) and Bostick and Rooter Addition (Lot 1 Block 8, 7.659 acres), both in Commissioner Precinct 4. The court set a public hearing for June 2025 at 9 a.m. for the replat of Springer Acres (Lots 9R1 and 9R2, Block A; 19.002 acres in Precinct 1).
Other business included approval of a budget amendment (100990) transferring $18,300 from tax statements and $5,000 from technology equipment to capital equipment for a total of $23,300 to purchase a high-volume envelope opener for the Tax Assessor-Collector’s office; acceptance of a participating entity service agreement for the Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) between Denton County and Sologist Government Incorporated to provide victim notification software; and approval of the bill report/payments for multiple funds presented for recording.
Human resources reported routine hiring actions: one new hire in the Auditor’s Office, one promotion in the County Clerk’s Office, one new hire in Justice of the Peace Precinct 3, one promotion in Justice of the Peace Precinct 5, and one new hire in the Sheriff’s Office (Detention Officer I).
Each item was approved on motion, with Commissioner Williams, Commissioner Falconer or other commissioners making motions and seconds recorded in the transcript; all recorded votes were in the affirmative and motions carried unanimously.
No substantive debate or dissent was recorded on these items in the public record during the meeting. The court also announced it would convene an executive session under Texas Government Code 9551.072 (real property) and 9551.087 (economic development negotiations).
