The Chatham County Schools Board approved the consent agenda, which administrators said included the last official policy series (the 6000-series) that had been revised in response to legal changes and North Carolina School Boards Association guidance.
Staff explained the spring updates were a small set of about 29 policies that were largely related to Title IX changes and included technical fixes and footnote corrections. Administrators said one policy (17‑20) was reverting to a prior version because of legal changes, and policies related to remote board participation and voting required roll call votes when conducted remotely during a state-declared emergency.
Administrators said additional "bring-back" policies — items missed in the current revision process — will return to the board in June for review. The consent-agenda approval was included in the meeting’s earlier consent motion and carried by voice vote.
Action: Board approved the consent agenda including NC School Boards Association spring policy updates as presented.
