Chemung County Legislature approves bundled resolutions, authorizes sewer-district bonds

The Chemung County Legislature approved a package of combined resolutions and routine business at its meeting, voting on contracts, grant acceptances, bid awards and bond authorizations for county sewer-district improvements.

The combined vote included resolutions to extend short-term agreements and vendor contracts (including agreements for airport services, landscaping, information-technology purchases and emergency-management services), to accept state grant funding for criminal-justice and indigent-legal services, and to award several public-works and sewer-district bids. The legislature also approved two authorizations for bond financing to pay for sewer-district facility improvements — one at a maximum estimated cost of $280,000 and another at $295,000 — and amendments to county staffing plans for the Department of Health and the Department of Social Services.

The package vote was called after a motion to combine multiple resolution numbers into grouped votes. The clerk conducted roll-call votes on the grouped packages; the transcript records the roll calls with “aye” responses from the listed legislators and no recorded “no” or abstention votes for the bundled items.
