The Government Operations and Fiscal Policy Committee on May 12 moved favorably on CB 36-2025, which would amend Prince George's County code section 2-294 to require the county's integrity and compliance officer and the deputy integrity and compliance officer to file financial disclosure statements.
Committee staff said the change is procedural and that the Office of Budget and Policy Analysis does not anticipate a fiscal effect. The Office of Law reviewed the bill and deemed it legally sufficient. Members discussed sending the draft to the ethics commission for comment prior to final enactment; the committee recorded a favorable motion and voted to advance the bill.
The committee's favorable report means the legislation will proceed to the next steps of the council process for further consideration and potential enactment.
