Duchesne County awards Administration Building remodel contract to lowest bidder

County staff described a scored procurement process that weighed technical approach (20%), experience and qualifications (20%), project schedules (15%), cost proposal (30%) and loan/debt limits (15%). Shane, a county staff member involved in the solicitation, told commissioners the bids were scored and that DHI submitted the winning proposal. Shane also thanked contractors for taking the time to prepare proposals.
Commissioner Kagan moved to accept the bid for the Administration Building from DHI in the amount of $1,744,393. Commissioner Chubb seconded the motion. Commissioners Killian, Chubb and Miles voted in favor and the chair signed the contract.
The commission recorded the accepted bid amount in open session. No amendments to the award were proposed at the meeting.
The county will proceed with contract execution and scheduling with the awarded contractor; staff described no change to the scoring criteria that produced the award.
The contract award concludes the formal bid evaluation and authorizes the county to proceed with the remodel using the accepted proposal.
