Administrative contact Connie Griglin asked members if they would volunteer at the City of Cape Coral’s 2025 Hurricane Expo on Saturday, May 31, at McCullough Market on Pine Island Road. The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and city departments and outside vendors will provide residents with preparedness information and materials.
Griglin said youth council volunteers could earn service hours and assist with tasks such as counting attendees at the entrance or staffing information stations. She asked members to indicate interest by a show of hands and said she would arrange a short planning meeting with the city’s emergency management staff so they could assign specific duties and finalize schedules.
No formal vote was required; staff will form a volunteer group and arrange a pre-event meeting. Members indicated they would be available and Griglin said she would coordinate via a group text to set the planning meeting date and time.
