Council approves minutes, conducts FY26 budget hearings and adjourns May 8

County Council convened the FY26 budget hearing on May 8. The council approved minutes from a prior meeting, heard FY26 budget presentations from the Department of Land Use, the Register of Wills, the Recorder of Deeds, the Sheriff’s Office, the County Auditor and the Ethics Commission, and then adjourned the hearing.
A motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded on the record; council members indicated support and the minutes were approved. At the end of the hearing a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and approved.
No formal budget adoption votes for the presented departments were recorded at the hearing; the session functioned as the formal departmental presentation portion of the FY26 budget process.
