The Baldwin Park City Council voted to receive and file a technical feasibility report from Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) on a proposed grade separation where Ramona Boulevard crosses the Metrolink tracks and to direct city staff to pursue partnerships and funding for the next development steps.
The study, described by Charles Zhang, senior director with LA Metro's regional rail division, was presented as a Project Study Report Equivalent (PSRE) that evaluates conceptual alternatives and prepares the groundwork for engineering and grant applications. "This is a PSRE. We call it project study report equivalent, for any grade separation projects… this is the step 1," Zhang told the council.
Staff and Metro recommended the council acknowledge the project is technically feasible and to pursue environmental clearance, preliminary engineering and grant funding from county, state and federal sources. The presentation compared four alternatives…
