Resolution 139-25 (and corresponding Bill 49) authorizes the mayor to accept $1,500,000 in federal funds through the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism for development of the Kukui Ola permanent supportive housing project in Kailua-Kona. Committee members expressed support for the project; Councilmember Baker said she was “deeply excited” about forward momentum on the West Side supportive-housing project. The motion carried with nine members in favor.
Both measures were forwarded to the full council for final action.
