Coeur d'Alene Chamber urges approval of firefighters bond on May 20 ballot

Linda Coppes, president and CEO of the Coeur d'Alene Regional Chamber, addressed the City Council on May 6 to urge support for a firefighters bond that will appear on the May 20 ballot.
Coppes said the Chamber’s board and its nearly 1,000 member businesses “express our unwavering support” because the city’s fire department is operating from aging, undersized facilities and needs modernized equipment and expanded training capacity to meet growing demand. “This bond isn’t just about funding. It’s about giving our firefighters the tools that they need to serve safely, efficiently, and effectively,” she said.
Coppes connected public safety to economic vitality, saying a safe community supports businesses and protects property values. She encouraged citizens to learn about the initiative and to vote on May 20.
