The Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration voted to waive deadlines for House File 3228 and placed the bill on the general register.
Chair Long explained that the Workers' Compensation Advisory Council adopted its recommendations on April 9, after the combined first- and second-deadline of April 4 for non-major-appropriation bills. The waiver was requested so the council’s recommendations could be considered despite the missed deadline. Representative Niska indicated support for the waiver. The committee adopted the waiver by voice vote and the clerk recorded that the waiver “prevails.”
Committee members said no public testimony would be accepted at this time; the waiver simply clears the procedural deadline hurdles so the bill can move forward in the House process.
