JPS reviews technology, recovery and consultant agreements as part of operations upgrades

Chief Operating Officer Burke outlined an amendment to the consultant agreement with ResultsBiz to continue project management support for the district’s Tyler Munis enterprise resource planning system. The administration said the ERP will centralize finance, payroll, HR and content management and include time and attendance. The financial module is scheduled to go live July 1, with payroll planned for January 2026; time and attendance will be integrated subsequently. Administrators said the ERP implementation will help address requirements under the district’s corrective action plan from the U.S. Department of Education.
Burke also described a recommendation for the transportation department to subscribe to Tyler Munis Mississippi services to provide an annual portal for requesting motor vehicle reports for employees with commercial driver’s licenses and staff who drive district vehicles.
The board reviewed a recommended engagement of MSC & Associates to recover unclaimed refunds, rebates and other funds held by state departments on behalf of the district. MSC will operate on contingency and, according to the presentation, receive 20 percent of recovered funds with the district receiving the remaining 80 percent.
Executive Director of Public Engagement Sherwin Johnson presented a work order to Finalsite authorizing 60 hours of virtual webmaster services to support migration to a new website template and staff training.

Why it matters: Centralizing financial and HR systems and improving web and background‑check services are operational investments intended to create efficiencies and address audit/corrective requirements. The contingency recovery service could produce one‑time revenue if recoverable funds are located.
