The Board of Public Health and Safety approved on May 7 a one-year license and service agreement with Iris (vendor name recorded in board materials as “Iris Stephanie”) to support a smart-policing grant project intended to identify efficiencies and provide a web-based platform for department use.
According to the staff memo presented at the meeting, the contract is 100% funded by the smart policing grant and will commence on the system’s “go-live” date. Staff stated the contract amount in the memo as "a hundred and $18,009.91 25" on the record; staff also said the contract includes an initial implementation/training component and that a subscription fee would apply in future years, likely to be funded from general funds after the grant period.
Presenter Miss Hall said she did not have deeper technical detail at hand but described the contract as “a web based platform that we will log into that will provide certain services to make policing more efficient.” Deputy Chief Weddington was identified in the memo as the staff lead on the Smart Policing grant and associated services.
Board members asked about the training and implementation line items and requested the renewal/ongoing subscription pricing. Staff confirmed training and implementation fees were included in the total contract amount and said renewal-rate details (a 3% annual increase is noted in the memo) would be provided for budgeting.
A motion to approve the license and service agreement was moved and seconded, the board voted in favor, and no opposing votes were recorded on the meeting record.
