The board voted unanimously and the motion carried, with the understanding that the $20,000 for the current fiscal year would be disbursed and an additional $20,000 included in next year’s budget but not released until the usual mid‑year schedule and any contractual requirements were met.
Commissioners noted the chamber had experienced an incident in its recent past but said the organization had implemented processes to reduce future risk and remained an important partner for local business support. Staff said the agreement includes reporting and policy requirements requested by commissioners; staff will present the draft to the chamber and return to the board if the chamber declines to sign.
